No Teaparties in Iran

Here in the United States, we’ve seen a renewed spirit of protest, especially among conservatives who previously shied away from such things. Too bad that’s not an option in Iran, where five protesters have been sentenced to death for participating in the June protests of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s questionable reelection. Those five, lumped together in a mass trial, will join three others who have also been sentenced to death for participating in the protest. There were 81 other people prosecuted for the protest, with sentences ranging from six months to 15 years in prison.

Don’t you dare revolt against the Islamic Revolution!
