GOP (Dis)Approval

A Washington Post / ABC News poll shows that the GOP has a lot of work to do if it wants to catch up with the Democrats. Sure, Democrats are no longer enjoying their honeymoon with even Obama feeling the heat as healthcare reform crawls through an ultra-partisan congress. But even the struggling Democrats with their 49 percent approval rating are relieved that they’re not down there with the Republicans who have a pitiful approval rating of 20 percent.

Can the GOP recover in time for next year’s congressional elections or have the Democrats already won? Of course, the Republicans may not need to worry at all. Do any of these polls really matter this far out, especially when you consider that everybody seems to be pessimistic about politics? Only time will tell…
